Where to connect 12V power

0 votes
Hi,

I just bought the EVO-ALL with cables ( THAR-NIS1 ) for my 2012 Nissan Juke PTS.

I find the cables is a bit different from all the versions of your instructions. The best match I'm using is Rev.20140327 ( Guide #12681 ).  There is a very small module ( like a relay ) along the 4-pin Data-Link cable that never been mentioned in any document. What is it ?

Should I just cut the 4-pin Data-Link's RED & BLACK wires at the RF-KIT end, then connect 12V & ground to them ?  Will this affecting the above "module" ?

I have photos of the cables. When you answer me through email, I can attach them there at that time.

Thanks.

Hello,

That is a prewired relay you see, it's actually there to convert the (-) parking light output on the EVO to a (+) signal (the vehicles parking light signal is positive and not negative). It should not be tampered with.

If you are also using an RF-KIT along side the EVO, you do not need to cut any wires in the datalink connector. The datalink cable will plug directly into the RF-KIT. The RF-KIT though will have a separate 12V and GRound that you would need to connect to the vehicle for power.
