Tundra 2016 remote starts after 1x stays on with key in ignition but turns off without it

I flashed my EVO-ONE using the latest firmware and the FLASH Link.

I have Remote Starter option 2 to mode 4 as required.

I am running into three issues:

1. My REVO 1 remote starts the car with only one press (not 3X as I am expecting)

2. When the car starts the engine runs and  turns off after about 15 seconds. However if I leave the key in the ignition the engine stays running (just putting the key in works; i do not have to turn it )

3. I can not get the device into programming mode using the valet switch (I turn ignition on and press the valet button but no programming mode)

Please HELP!!!

1. the Revo 1 is not designed to start the vehicle by pressing 3x, it will start with 1.

2. the bypass part of the Evo does not seem to be programmed to the vehicle

3. to program the bypass, you do not push on the plug in valet buttton, you need to press and hold the "programming button" on the side of the actual module, (right next to the yellow wire loop) Follow programming steps in the guide. Blue and Red leds need to flash 10x when key is turned to IGN position.

4. if the module programs properly but does not start, please verify connections to the SIL DATA wire, this wire needs to be cut and connected properly to the evo to permit remote starting.

one test you can do, is to unplug the TPMS connector completely and remote start the vehicle. if it starts with the connector unplugged, then your connections to the SIL DATA wire need to be checked.

Thank you,

Jesus thank you for taking the time to help me.

1. I get the Revo 1 design. So how do I use the Revo 1 in dual mode when say on some days I don't want the remote start and just want to lock and unlock the doors? The truck did not come with an OEM FOB or keyless entry.

2. I programmed the bypass by using the programming button and geting to the BLUE RED flashing 10x and then the BLUE flashing. Then I turn the ignition off and back on and get the YELLOW light .

3. I verified all the connections especially the ones I had to cut (SIL and TPMS). I unplugged the TPMS and the truck does not remote start.

My problem is that the car always cranks (sometimes for up to 7 seconds) and about half the time the engine starts and stops after 10 secconds and the other half of the times the engine does not start. I tried this so many times I actually drained the battery and had to jump start the truck.

Here is the odd thing. If I stick the key in the ignition (at the off position) and leave it there, the remote start works perfectly every time.

Something tells me that i need to simulate the key in the ignition and that is the yellow wire from the evo one to the pink wire which is connected correctly. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
are you using a proper key to program and not the valet key?

also i had a similar problem on a toyota sienna. talked to tech support and i had to roll back the firmware to a much earlier one that i guess was updated. I was using a EVO-ALL but could be a similar issue
Are you using a t-harness?

If no, and you are connected wire to wire then:

Please take a picture of the ignition switch connector and identify the wires you used, this vehicle has 2 IGNs and only one starter, looking at your service number, you enabled function 2 mode 4, which should not be enabled.

please set function 2 to mode 1, and make sure that the pink and white wires on the evo are connected to the ignitions wires

Pink (evo) to Black (car ign1)

White (evo) to Light Green (car ign 2)

Yellow (evo) to Green (car starter)

Orange (evo) SHOULD NOT BE CONNECTED ANYWHERE, isolate with tape

Red (evo) to Blue (car 12v)
Thanks!

I am using the t-Harness but I will try that change in configuration function 2 to mode 1. I will post the results when I get to make the change.

If that proves to solve the issue then the installation guide is wrong. For the Toyota Tundra with T-harness installation they are requiring to for function 2 to be set to mode 4. That was actually in one of the troubleshooting steps on their web site.
so I tested the function 2 mode 1 but no start. The vehicle cranks but no engine. I have followed the wiring instructions that came with the device but those assumed that the car required function 2 mode 4.

Since I am using the T-harness is there another wiring diagram I should be following?

Please advise!

That is why I asked if you were using a t-harness,

With the t-harness, you need function 2 mode 4, to change the way the wires in the main harness are powered up since it's a t-harness and there is no way to manually change the wire's pin position.

in your original post, you said:

2. When the car starts the engine runs and  turns off after about 15 seconds. However if I leave the key in the ignition the engine stays running (just putting the key in works; i do not have to turn it )

When you say, "the engine runs and turns off afer about 15 seconds" Do you mean it actually fires up then dies after 15 seconds, OR it cranks for 15 seconds then stops. these are 2 different symptoms.

if the vehicle actually starts and runs for 15 seconds then dies, then it sounds more like the can wires are intermittent and the evo is losing the tach feed from the obd-2 connector, how are these wires connected to the vehicle, the wires should be stripped and the evo wires connected directly to the wires, no t-taps, wire taps, scotch-lock crimp on type connectors should be used.

thank you,
