Send Live Commands to EVO All with a Computer

0 votes

I will receive my EVO All with a t-harness soon for my Toyota Rav4 2016, Limitted.

I know how to install it and setup the 3X Lock button remote start on my Rav4.

However, this is what I want to do next but I don't know how. I want to connect a raspbbery pi to the Evo All, and let it to stay connected to Evo All. I want to able to send commends to Evo All, while it is connected to the car's BCM. Like I want my to tell Evo All to remote start, or lock the doors or unlock them. How can I do that?

If you don't know, where can I find documentaions on how the Evo All device is built and function? Any white paper? Or any documentation on the device itself can also be helpful.

The Fortin2 protocol is proprietary.

You can probably find some info on the normal Fortin rs232 protocol though on the magical internet. You would have to see if sales can help on getting documentation.. sales@ifar.ca

a lot easier though, just not as fun.   Use the negative trigger inputs.

  • purple - lock input
  • purple/white - unlock input
  • yellow/black - start

Need to press the brake. Brake is what shuts down all remote starters. Dont just press the pts button.

Your car will shut down on door open anyway.
Update: It could be an awesome project, but I messed up one of my car's battery cells.

After that night that I tested it by grounding the Fortin to the body, my car's battery died, and it didn't recharge again. Turned out that one of the battery's cells got broken that night that I was testing it.

Do you know why did this happen? I was triggering the Fortin using a wire and a metal part inside the car.
If you left the wire grounded, the evo never went in sleep mode....
I didn't leave it grounded. I just triggered the lock, unlock and remote start negative triggers, for three or four times, and that's it!

Any ideash on why did it happen? Did I short the battery somehow? I have no idea what happened but I'm curious to know.
possibly just a fluke then..I have no idea what happened to.

Might want to check the vehicles charging system.
