First standalone install and need advice for wiring in a 09 Impala lock wires

Installing a fortin evo-all for the first time.   Installing into a 2009 Impala as a standalone auto start and need to know do I have to connect the lock and unlock wires?  Also what is the external input used for?

You don't need to connect lock and unlock.

The external trigger you also do not need. It acts a secondary way to start / stop the vehicle. Ground pulse will start / stop the vehicle
