EVO and Fortin RF

0 votes

I did the DYI Splice for the RF ant, I just spliced into the hot and ground wire of the WHITE pin connected to the other black 4 pin connector. The Blue light on the antennae comes on for a milli sec then goes out. I am unable to program the remote. I saw other post mentioning Turn on the RF from the REMOTE start side, but when I switch over I get a looking for device connection. what am I doing wrong?

Instead of going through the entire Q&A...please read this . Here's what I had to do.

1. To get the RF ANT and the EVO to communicate, i had to do more than splice a power and ground into the antenna....I had to splice the Red and Blue wire into the antenna too. That way it will communicate. as soon as I did this I was able to get confirmation that the RF Remote was getting pprogrammed. BUT it still didnt work.

2. I decided to look into resetting the EVO to default and reprogram ands in less than 15 min I was up and running. All remotes work and I'm loving it.

I appreciate  Mathieu Bertrand Collin  and Jesus Monroy for taking the time to point me in the right direction. I hope this Helps.

When doing the remote programming procedure does the light in the antenna start to flash rapidly when you turn the ignition on ?

You need to release on RED AND BLUE. Release programming button then press and hold it again until the lights come back on, then release. Turn ignition ON and look at the light in the antenna it should start to flash rapidly.

When doing the remote programming procedure does the light in the antenna start to flash rapidly when you turn the ignition on ? NO!! I looked for that too.

Turn ignition ON and look at the light in the antenna it should start to flash rapidly.

I'll try again later but I don't thnk it did

Question on the instructions, they say to splice 3&4 wire to a 12v hot and ground. What about the other 2 wires? What do they do? Should they be spliced into the other 2 form the connection? If so...instructions don't say to.

When you trim the clip off the blue connector, this becomes your new connector that will plug directly into the datalink port of the EVO-ALL. The power and ground splice are so that both the antenna and the evo can be powered up.
Ok so I actually spliced the red and blue into the antenna wire and the Antenna lights up flashes....and the remote GIVES the pairing mode...BUT....nothing is working...the OEM still starts the truck but I think the Truck is in VALET mode..

what colors are the EVO lights suppose to be when I remote start with the OEM? All yellow when I start mine....

I saw other post mentioning Turn on the RF from the REMOTE start side, but when I switch over I get a looking for device connection. what am I doing wrong?

 1. You cannot "toggle" over to connection mode: remote starter, what you have is an EVO-ALL which is a "bypass" unit and not a remotestarter and bypass in one unit (EVO-ONE)

2.There is no valet mode, you can start the vehicle with the OEM keyfob which tells you that the Evo-All is functioning fine. Your issue is only with the programming the RF kit.

What do you mean you spliced the "blue" into the antenna? The only wires that should've been spliced into is the 12v and ground wires of the antenna cable so that power and ground can flow to both the Evo-All and the Antenna.

3. When you activate the remote starter the blue would've flashed with every push of the OEM remote, then red would come on, then yellow might light up before or after vehicle has started, blue would flash once in a while when communicating on the Can Bus wires.

1. Cool figured that out

2.Ok got it. With the EVO all Harness you had the data link connector and two free connectors 1 white one black. ALL with RED,BL,Blue White wires in that order. If i would of had the ALL Connector they would of connected that way. Well after running the hot and ground to good locations AND the ehite and blue into the blue connector (where it would of been if i had the connection) I was !. Able to get the Antenna to flash while programming the remotes AND 2. Actually program the remote. BUT the remotes don't do ANYTHING. with just the 12v and Ground....Nothing happened. No programming no flashing light on the Antenna.

Right now the antennae was BLINKING after locking with my OEM remote.

The options are all correct in the settings.

3. That's what it did, but it stays in a all yellow status. Not sure if its normal. I want to start from the beginning and reprogram the EVO, which I tried but as soon as I hook it up to the updater, it says it has oll the info. How do you reset it to default?  is that possible.

I know I have all connected correctly...so I can on;ly think it's the EVO STUCK in some sort of MODE.

Thanks for all your help in this

Do you mean when the vehicle and the Evo is OFF the yellow led is ALWAYS ON?

Which RF kit do you have? if possible can you take a picture of the remotes and antenna (front and back) and send the pictures to support@ifar.ca
Good news....I called tech support. For some reason when i look at my EVO status it says H2 is on...Yet TECH said it shows off. I need to reconnect it and turn off then on again. As for the Truck turning off this is normal because I'm on the OEM remote. I get the RF to work then I'm good to go.

The RF in question is the FTX-64 2W. I'll update this when i get home tonight.

You had called tech support? I just re-checked your service number and H2 is enabled along with F2, which is ok,

If you do have a Flashlink-2 updater, I would reset the unit by following this procedure : http://wirecolor.com/en/qa/50193/faq-how-do-i-reset-my-evo-all?show=50193#q50193

Then check options again and set them as the guide requires.

Thats what i said and the TECH kept saying he saw it as off...yet could see the H2...but thats not possible...but I will do an entire reset and go from there...Thanks alot on this...I'll let you know later tonight what happens....
