Key Override All allows car to start - then shuts down

0 votes
Customer has a 2006 Ford 500 and both keys at least appear to be original.   At the end of the program sequence, the LED flashed very rapidly - to rapid to count - then goes solid.

When remote starting, the car does start but then shuts down after 10 seconds.  I thought this would be a tach issue, but if he remote starts the car with the key in the ignition (off position), it starts and runs fine.

I always thought that a Ford would not start at all if the KOA was not working.  Is this not correct?

Any suggestions?

Disconnect the KOA and try remote starting. It should crank but die off right away. I am not sure on this car how it would react exactly but this test will answer that question.

No matter the remote starter, have him cut the blue and white wires in datalink. Information that the KOA cannot process (like unlock) is being sent and can cause no start issues like this.
